SoCal Skateshop owner Mike Hirsch has announced that he is heading back to the hospital after noticing blood in his saliva again over the past few days.
In a post shared by SoCal Skateshop, Mike explained that he had been noticing blood in his saliva but had initially ignored it. He said he had been trying to determine if the blood was coming from a wound in his mouth, but ultimately decided that going to the hospital was the right thing to do.
Mike said his family was on the way to pick him up as he prepared to be admitted. He did not provide any further details about what may be causing the bleeding or what doctors have told him so far.
The health update also comes at a busy time for SoCal Skateshop. The shop is currently in its final week at its original retail location, meaning there is already plenty of work to handle as the business prepares for the transition.
Because of the situation, Mike warned customers that some orders could experience a delay of one to two days. He explained that Christian has also been focused on work related to the shop's move, adding that orders would most likely be shipped that night, with tracking information expected to start appearing on Thursday.
Mike apologized for the delay and thanked customers for their understanding while he deals with the situation.
The post also included a photo from an Anaheim skateboarding exhibit that took place a few months ago. Mike explained that the image was simply the one he was able to find quickly when making the announcement.
For now, the focus appears to be on getting Mike back into the care of doctors while the shop continues handling orders and its transition from its original retail location.
Customers with open orders may see a short delay in shipping, but SoCal Skateshop says orders are still expected to go out as the shop continues working through the week.
