The skate scene got a wild story this week when Violet pro skater Kader Sylla went for a monster boardslide down a 24 stair handrail.
The trick was already insane, but what made it unforgettable was how close he came to colliding with Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden, who was standing just a little too close to the landing zone.
Kader locked into the rail and rode it perfectly, but as he came flying off the end, his momentum carried him straight toward Gulden.
For a split second it looked like the two were about to crash hard. Instead of panic or anger, though, Gulden just laughed as the board skimmed past him and the crowd erupted.
People clapped, yelled, and couldn’t believe they had just witnessed a pro skater almost take out the head of the company backing him.
The best part of the whole scene was Gulden’s reaction, especially when he even waxed the handrail himself.
Most bosses would have gone red in the face or started pointing fingers, but he brushed it off, laughed along with everyone else, and even gave Kader a cheer for pulling it off clean.
It turned what could have been a scary or awkward moment into something people will be talking about for a long time.
In the end, Kader walked away with the make, Gulden walked away without a scratch, and the crowd walked away with a story they’ll be retelling for years.
