On Tuesday, July 27th, 2021, Josiah Kassahun was attacked by professional skateboarder Terry Kennedy.

Sadly, he later passed away from the injuries he suffered that day. Even years later, people who knew him still feel the weight of that loss, and his name is remembered in the hearts of everyone who loved him.

Josiah was more than just a good homie.

He was someone who showed up for people when they needed him the most. He had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and valued.

Everyone who met him knew he had a big heart and nothing but love to give. Losing him left a hole in the skateboarding community and in the lives of the people closest to him, a gap that can never be filled.

He had a laugh that could light up a room, and he carried himself with a sense of realness that people respected.

Josiah’s kindness wasn’t limited to his homies; strangers could feel it too. He looked out for people, had their backs, and always tried to lift those around him up.

That’s the kind of person he was, and that’s why he’s still remembered with so much love today.

Even after everything that happened, the stories people tell about Josiah show the kind of energy he brought into their lives.

People remember the way he made them feel safe, included, and important. Those memories don’t fade, and they keep his presence alive in the community he was a part of.

Friends and family are asking for support to create a memorial in his name, more than four years after his passing. Donations will help make sure Josiah’s life is honored, that his memory stays strong, and that people can continue to celebrate who he was and what he brought into the world.

Until this day, Josiah’s impact is still felt.

Skateboarders carry pieces of him with them in how they treat others, in the love they share, and in the ways they show up for the people around them.

He may be gone, but the way he made people feel and the lessons he gave through his actions will never be forgotten.

Josiah will always be remembered as someone who cared, who gave, and who made a difference in the lives of everyone he touched.

His name will live on in the memories of those who knew him, in the stories people tell, and in the love that continues to grow for the friend who left too soon.
