Professional skateboarder Terry Kennedy, who has been behind bars since 2021, is now set to be released on December 31, 2025.
The 40-year-old was charged with first-degree murder following a 2021 incident that left his friend and fellow skater Josiah Kassahun unconscious.
Reports indicate that during an argument, TK reportedly punched Kassuhan in the head, which caused his friend’s head to hit the ground accidentally.
The former Baker Skateboards pro skater was later acquitted of the murder charge but was convicted of battery in December 2022.
His original sentence was five years in prison, with a projected release date of July 3, 2026. Initially, his parole was set for July 8, 2026.
After demonstrating good conduct and responsibility while incarcerated, his release was first moved early to February 27, 2026.
Now, due to consistent behavior and following the rules, his parole has been moved even earlier, allowing him to walk free on New Year’s Eve.
During his time in prison, TK reportedly focused on improving himself and maintaining discipline. Sources close to ShreddER mention that his faith as a Muslim has kept him steady and focused, helping him make better choices while locked up.
His personal commitment to following the word of Allah, staying true to the rules, and showing respect for the system played a significant role in his early parole.
Everybody who has been watching TK’s grind is ready to see him free and skating again. After spending more than four years behind bars, he will now be able to return to his daily life, reconnect with friends and family, and begin rebuilding his routines outside prison.
TK’s early release also allows him to start the new year with a fresh start, giving him the chance to focus on his passions and move forward with his life.
His case has drawn attention over the years because of the serious nature of the incident and the mix of legal outcomes. Things got crazy in 2021, but now the spotlight is on him coming back out and proving he has been keeping his head straight behind bars.
As December 31 approaches, TK will have the opportunity to experience life outside prison again, reconnect with the skateboarding community, and continue building a future shaped by the lessons learned during his time in custody.
With Allah and his good deeds backing him, TK is moving into a new chapter after holding it down through hard times and showing that he has been doing better.
