Mahomes was recently seen rocking the iconic skate magazine's logo, giving the skate community another moment to appreciate.

While plenty of people know him for what he does with the Kansas City Chiefs, it is always cool to see athletes from different backgrounds wearing brands that have been part of skateboarding for decades.

This is not the first time a major athlete has been connected to Thrasher either.

As we previously reported, football icon Lionel Messi and skateboarding legend Mark Gonzales appeared together wearing pieces from the Thrasher x Adidas AFA World Cup collection.

That collaboration brought together two worlds that have shared plenty of fans over the years.

Seeing Mahomes wearing a Thrasher shirt made many people think about that connection once again. Some skaters even joked that he was showing support for both Messi and Gonz while representing one of skateboarding's most recognizable names.

As expected, skateboarders were happy to see another global athlete wearing Thrasher. Photos quickly made the rounds online, with many fans welcoming the crossover and enjoying the extra attention it brings to skateboarding.

Of course, not everyone felt the same.

The gatekeepers don’t want anyone wearing Thrasher if you can’t powerslide and that debate that has been around for years.

Hence, some mainstream skaters and corporate lovers pointed out that Thrasher has become part of popular culture while continuing to stay connected to its skateboarding roots.

At the end of the day, seeing one of the biggest names in football wearing a Thrasher shirt is another example of how skateboarding continues to reach people from all walks of life.

From professional athletes to musicians and actors, the influence of skateboarding keeps growing while the community continues doing what it has always done.
