Former Thank You pro skateboarder Lil Wayne is once again getting on ShreddER top stories, and this time over his comments about President Donald Trump's planned White House ballroom.
The MAGA skater rapper recently shared his thoughts on one of Trump's most talked about construction projects during an appearance on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast.
Wayne said he actually understands why Trump wants a large ballroom built at the White House.
According to him, people criticizing the proposal are missing an important point about hosting performances and large events.
Recalling Trump's explanation, Wayne said he was happy to hear the president talk about why the project is needed.
"I'm so glad to hear Trump say, when they was mad at him about building the ballroom, and he was like, 'Because everything we do we have to do it on the damn lawn.'"
Wayne continued by saying many people are judging the idea without understanding the reason behind it.
"So, people who don't know nothing hearing that thinking he's just being Trump. No, for real, I was glad to hear him saying that."

His opinion comes from personal experience.
Wayne performed during then Vice President Kamala Harris' celebration for the 50th anniversary of hip hop in 2023.
The event took place outside at Number One Observatory Circle, something that left an impression on him.
According to Wayne, the setting felt less like a formal government event and more like a backyard barbecue.
That experience made him appreciate the idea of having a dedicated indoor venue where artists, guests, and officials could gather without relying on outdoor spaces.
For skaters, it is another example of Wayne speaking openly about topics outside of music. Although he has built one of the biggest careers in hip hop, he has also spent years earning respect in skateboarding.
His passion for skating led to his longtime relationship with Thank You Skateboards, where he was introduced as a pro rider by Torey Pudwill and the rest of the team.

Trump has promoted the ballroom project for months, saying the White House has needed a large indoor venue for years.
He believes it would make hosting state dinners, diplomatic receptions, performances, and other official gatherings much easier while also improving security.
Back in May, Trump shared an update on Truth Social, saying construction on the ballroom was progressing quickly on the east side of the White House. He also responded to reports questioning the cost of the project.
According to Trump, the ballroom became more expensive because the design was expanded to nearly twice the size of the original proposal while also using higher quality materials.

He argued that the first version would not have been large enough for future White House events, meetings, and presidential inaugurations.
Trump previously estimated the original ballroom would cost around $200 million. He now says the expanded version will cost less than $400 million and claims construction is ahead of schedule and under budget.
Wayne's comments have already drawn attention online, with supporters agreeing that an indoor venue makes practical sense for performances and official events, while others continue to question the project.
Regardless of where people stand politically, the skater rapper pro says that his opinion comes from firsthand experience after performing at a White House event held outdoors.
