Professional skateboarder Kyle Walker recently shared a heartfelt post reflecting on his early days as a skater and how Real Skateboards played a big role in shaping his path.
He remembers being 13 years old when he got his first DLX box from Darin Howard.
Before that, his favorite boards were always from Real Skateboards, so finally getting that box was a dream come true.
He describes it as a moment he’ll never forget and one of the most important experiences for him as a kid from Oklahoma who dreamed of skating professionally.
Kyle also mentioned how seeing Fulton use the back smith in the intro of OVAL immediately took him back to those early days.
At 16, he was new to the LA scene and full of excitement and curiosity. That clip was also part of his first Spitfire ad, which was shot by his longtime friend Trevor Vaughan.
He even joked about someone photoshopping his wheels black for the ad, showing he still has a sense of humor about those early experiences.
Looking back, Kyle feels lucky to continue putting out parts for Real Skateboards. Being able to still skate, create, and share his parts allows him to hold on to the dream that started when he was a kid in Oklahoma.
OVAL, a new video by Real Skateboards, is now available on their YouTube channel. You can watch now below y'all!

I was super hyped @fulton7 used the back smith in the intro of OVAL because it immediately took me down memory lane.
I was 16 in that clip & very fresh to the LA scene. That was also my first Spitfire ad shot by my day one brother @trevorvaughan. Shout out to whoever photoshopped my wheels black for the ad😂
It’s truly a gift to still be able to put parts out for Real and that I get to keep the dream alive!
Anyways, OVAL • a video by @realskateboards is out now and live on their YouTube. Go watch it and then go skate !
