Skateboarders around the world are celebrating today as pro skater Brandon Turner from Sk8 Mafia officially declares October 25 as Switch Hardflip Day.
Turner decided to honor one of skateboarding’s most challenging tricks with a fun event that encourages skaters to show off their skills.
As we previously reported, Turner announced the special day on his social media accounts and said skaters can tag him with the hashtag #switchhardflipday for the $1,000 cash prize.
This year, you can just do the trick and celebrate Switch Hardflip Day, but there’s no guarantee about the prize for now.
Turner putting a whole day on this trick is not just about how tough it is it is a shout out for everyone to get wild with their own style. Skaters from the streets and the parks are flipping it their way showing tricks and creativity and straight up showing what they can do.
It doesn’t matter if you’re just learning in your driveway or killing it at the park today, it’s all about giving respect to a trick that takes mad skill, patience, and style. Happy Switch Hardflip Day from the big dawg Turner and everybody holding it down in the skate game.
