Pro skater Bam Margera recently shared a story from more than two decades ago involving comedian and skateboarder Dave Chappelle.
According to Bam, the last time he saw Chappelle was back in 2000 while they were riding together in a limousine on the way to the MTV Video Music Awards.
Chappelle was hosting the show that year, while Bam was there to present an award to Eminem.
Looking back on the moment, Bam said he introduced Chappelle to the newly released Tony Hawk's Pro Skater video game during the ride.
He joked that Chappelle became hooked almost immediately.
Bam wrote:
"The last time I saw @davechappelle we were together in a limo as he was hosting the 2000 MTV VMAs as I was presenting an award to @eminem
I got him addicted to the new Tony hawk video game in the limo and he only plays “ME” now in the game ever since"
The post quickly caught the attention of skaters who enjoyed hearing the throwback story.
It also brought back memories of the early days of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series, which became one of the most popular skateboarding video games ever released.
For many skaters and gamers, choosing Bam Margera as a character was an easy pick, especially after he joined later entries in the franchise.
Although Bam and Dave Chappelle have gone in very different directions over the years, Bam's story offered a fun look back at a time when both were regular faces on MTV.
