The battle for the longest grind is still going.
As we previously reported, Zero Skateboards pro Kanaan Dern first set the longest grind with a 230 foot rail, which measures just over 70 meters.

The clip made it to ShreddER top stories real quick as it was considered a never been done before trick on a rail that long.
Not long after, Red Bull pro skateboarder Maxim Habanec answered back with a 78 meter grind, equal to approximately 255.9 feet.
With the backing of a large sponsor and the resources that come with it, building a rail for an attempt like that is naturally much easier.

But the Dern Brothers ain't having it!
They returned to Bam Margera's Castle Bam, where they spent time rebuilding and extending the rail.
It was a project that required plenty of work and money, and they did it without the backing of a large corporate sponsor.
The effort paid off.
Kanaan reclaimed the title with a grind measuring 78.16 meters (256.43 feet), killing it with past Maxim's 78 meter grind by 16 centimeters, or just over 6 inches.

Now another pro skater has entered the chat!
Space Pupil Skateboards pro Kyle Walsh recently shared that he went after Kanaan Dern's longest grind.
The attempt did not work out this time, but Walsh says that he has every intention of coming back to take the throne.
He posted:
"Battle was lost but the war is not over @rippedjerky"
Walsh did not reveal how close he came to reaching the distance, but his message leaves little doubt that another attempt is already on his mind.
With Kanaan, Maxim, and now Kyle all chasing longer grinds, the race is far from finished.
If Walsh returns and lands it, the record could change once again.
