Skaters in Los Angeles may have noticed something different on Melrose lately

Skater rapper Soulja Boy has been busy making music and skating the streets, but unfortunately, his store has closed its doors. A “For Lease” sign now hangs in the window, stating that the location is available for a new tenant.

According to fellow skater rapper Rainz Cash, who is also the artist and rider for SODMG Skateboards, the team has relocated to Atlanta.

While the Los Angeles location is no longer operating, the brand’s online presence has also changed.

Skateboards, including Soulja Boy’s pro model decks, are no longer available on the SODMG website.

As we previously reported, the oversaturated skate market has led to the closure of Ryan Sheckler’s Sandlot Times brand. Could SODMG Skateboards be next?

It’s unclear what kind of business will move into the space next, but the iconic Melrose stretch has always attracted creative and unique shops.
