Professional skateboarder Ryan Sheckler has always worn many hats.
Alongside his long career on a board, he is also open about his faith and often speaks about his belief in Jesus Christ, even carrying the verse Luke 1:37 with him.
At the same time, he has focused heavily on family life and being a present husband and father, while continuing to stay busy with street skating and business ventures.
One of those ventures was Sandlot Times, a board company that started gaining attention in May 2022.
The brand picked up momentum when fellow pro skater Manny Santiago officially joined the team on June 27, 2023.
That decision gave the Sandlot Times skateboarding brand a bit more visibility and caught the interest of skaters following its progress.
After about a year and eight months, however, Santiago decided to step away.
He parted ways with Shecks to focus on launching his own brand, something he has said gives him more freedom to build something personal.

Since then, activity around Sandlot Times has slowed down considerably.
The brand’s last social media post went up on February 28, 2025, and nearly a year has passed without any new updates.
While there has been no official statement from Shecks confirming that Sandlot Times has shut down, people close to the situation have told ShreddER that the project is finished.
There are also a few signs pointing in that direction.
Sandlot Times no longer appears in Shecks social media bio.
Instead, he now lists Red Bull, his Diip Premium Nixodine Pouches brand, Melin, JAXXON, Sanro Studios, and Gameday Men’s Health.
On the Sandlot Times website, all boards and apparel are marked as sold out, with no items currently available for purchase.
Interestingly, one part of the brand is still active. The Sandlot Times Training Center continues to operate, offering kids a place to learn how to skateboard.
That side of the project seems to live on, even as the retail side appears to be quiet.
The wider board industry may help explain what happened.
In recent years, the market has become crowded, with more and more small companies entering the scene.
Santiago himself has spoken about this, pointing out that many smaller brands are jumping in to grab a piece of the market.

According to him, this has made things harder for established companies, with too many options spread across the same group of buyers.
Despite the challenges, Santiago has chosen to move forward on his own.
He recently launched his RAD Skateboarding brand, hoping to share his business ideas directly with his fans and build something fresh under his own name.
Many supporters are excited to see him take this step and are curious about what comes next.
Some skaters' reactions to the current state of the industry are mixed.
Some are excited that more companies are getting attention and that new names are popping up.
Others feel overwhelmed, saying it is hard to keep track of deck brands anymore, especially with so many new pro skaters and projects appearing all the time.
Even if Sandlot Times is truly done for now, it still meant something to skateboarding. For many fans, it represented another chapter in Ryan Shecks's life beyond contests and videos.
There is always a chance it could return in the future if the industry settles down. Until then, skateboarders can look back on what it was and hope that whatever comes next works out in the best way possible.
