X Games has officially introduced the first Founder Athletes of the upcoming X Games League: Nyjah Huston, Ryan Sheckler and Ryan Williams.
These three are not just elite competitors. They’ve been part of the foundation that helped skateboarding, freestyle BMX and scootering grow into what they are today.
X Games CEO Jeremy Bloom made the announcement public, saying:
“Introducing the first three Founder Athletes of The X Games League—Nyjah Huston, Ryan Sheckler, and Ryan Williams. Legends who helped build the culture, now leading us into the next era. This is just the beginning. XGL launches Summer 2026
”
Huston is known for his handrail and sick skating, stacking up wins in street contests for over a decade.
Sheckler has been in the spotlight since he was a kid and played a major role in bringing skateboarding to a broader audience.
Williams turned freestyle into something entirely his own, taking risks and landing tricks that had never been done before.
By naming these three as Founders, X Games is making it clear that athlete voices will play a big role in how the league is built.
They’re not just signing up to compete. They’ll be involved in shaping what this new chapter looks like. This move puts experienced riders at the core of decisions that affect the future.
With the league set to launch in Summer 2026, the build-up begins now. These three names are just the start.
