Skate Sauce just restocked the Guy Mariano Hot Pepper Sauce, and to mark the occasion, they handed a bottle to two of their pro riders, Tom Penny and Tiago Lemos.
With only fifty bottles available, it’s a small batch release that brings serious heat with a sweet twist.
The sauce begins with the mellow taste of bananas before the spice creeps in.
It features a mix of white vinegar, red tomatoes, habanero and serrano peppers, white onion, agave nectar, lime juice, garlic, Himalayan salt, sea salt, and the infamous Carolina Reaper. It is all natural, vegan, and gluten free, made in the USA by Newk’s Hot Sauce.
The legend Penny gave it a go with no hesitation.
He kept it cool at first, but the delayed kick from the reaper pepper made him pause for a second.
On the other hand, pro skateboarder Lemos gave it a shot and smiled through the burn. Neither of them backed down, but the spice clearly caught up with them in its own time.
Skate Sauce posted the tasting session with a throwback to Guy Mariano’s iconic switch crook from 1995. The sauce may be new, but it connects directly to one of skateboarding’s most respected names and moments.
It is something you could actually use, whether you are cooking up something serious or just adding a kick to your lunch. There is enough balance to enjoy the taste before the heat takes over.
