After months of curiosity and cryptic teasers, The Berrics has finally revealed what they’ve been working on and it’s happening in Japan.

Steve Berra and Eric Koston’s influential skate platform is teaming up with Fuji-Q Highland, the popular theme park located near Mt. Fuji, to build a brand-new skate plaza that’s set to open this summer.

In a recent post, The Berrics shared:

"Many people have asked us, “What’s next?” We can finally break our silence. There is no secret that some of the best skaters on earth are currently coming from Japan.
It was only natural to start putting some focus on this beautiful country. This project has been in the works with @fujikyuhighland for well over a year and we’re excited to tell you that it’s coming this summer.
And summer is going to be here before you know it.

The announcement hits at a time when Japanese skaters like Yuto Horigome, Aori Nishimura, and Ginwoo Onodera have been consistently blowing minds with their style and precision.

The Berrics clearly sees the momentum building in Japan and is ready to be a part of it. Not just by filming, but by physically creating a space where the local scene can thrive.

Partnering with Fuji-Q Highland adds an extra layer of fun.

The park is famous for its roller coasters, haunted houses, and views of Mt. Fuji. Now it’s about to add a custom-designed street plaza into the mix - something that’ll attract skaters from across the country (and the globe) looking for a new place to skate, shoot footage, and connect.

There’s no sneak peek at the design yet, but if it’s anything like what The Berrics has built before, it’s safe to expect something creative, functional, and built with skaters in mind.

With Japan’s deep skate talent pool and Fuji-Q’s existing draw as a destination, this partnership feels like a smart move that could feed both skate culture and tourism.

Videos and more details are expected to roll out soon.
