A local skateboarder is calling out the Sci-Fi Fantasy skate team over an alleged mess at a local skatepark.
UPDATE: Jerry Hsu Defends His Team After Being Accused of Trashing a Skatepark: “And We’ll Do It Again”
The locals who regularly shred the spot are reportedly left to deal with the cleanup.
Brandon, who says he visits the park every day, pointed out that he rarely sees the group crew.
His issue is not with them visiting the spot, but with the amount of garbage allegedly left behind after their sesh.
According to Brandon, the local skateboarders already make an effort to collect their cans and keep the area tidy.
He believes visitors should do the same before leaving, especially when they are using a place that other people rely on every day.
It is a simple part of skatepark etiquette.
If you bring drinks, food or anything else into the park, take your trash with you when you leave.
Nobody should have to spend the next session picking up cans and wrappers that were left behind.
Brandon also noted that his criticism was about the situation rather than personal animosity toward the skaters involved.
At the end of the day, it takes very little effort to leave a skatepark in good condition.
Before heading home, take a few minutes to check the area, gather your garbage and put it where it belongs.
You do not have to be a local to respect the spot. If you use the park, help keep it clean for the skaters who will be there after you.
