Violet Skateboards boss Bill Strobeck dropped a big announcement but left plenty for fans to wonder about.
Skateboarding Hall Of Famer Ron Allen has teamed up with the Violet brand for something special that connects back to Allen’s early nineties roots.
After parting ways with H Street back in the day, Allen launched LIFE Skateboards, naming it after the De La Soul track This Is a Recording 4 Living In a Fulltime Era.
LIFE wasn’t just another deck company. It had personality, style, and a crew that could hold their own anywhere. Names like Sean Sheffey, John Reeves, John Deago, Kien “Donger” Lieu, and Allen himself made up a team that still gets talked about today.
In 1991, LIFE dropped A Soldier’s Story, a skate video that felt like a direct feed from the streets. Just raw skating that hit home with anyone who lived it.
Fast forward to 2025, Violet and LIFE are linking up, and from the few details out there, it looks like the drop includes boards in the original LIFE shape and shirts featuring the hand drawn logo Allen created when he first started the company.
Could there be a video? Will this lead to more collabs or a full LIFE revival? The post doesn’t say, and neither Allen nor Strobeck have given more details.
For now, all we have is what’s live at the Violet's site, and if history is any clue, these won’t sit on the shelves for long.
