Former professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdek is saying goodbye to Ridiculousness as MTV cancels the long-running show after 14 years.

The host shared an emotional message on social media, reflecting on the years of laughter, creativity, and fun that went into making the series a hit.

“Thank you all for such an amazing run,” Dyrdek wrote. “Ridiculousness has been a blessing in so many ways, but the fact that we all just laughed together for 14 years really made it special. We just went out and freestyled each show, having fun making each other laugh. For me, it always felt like all of us including producers, writers, editors, crew, and audience laughing together.”

The show started in 2009 with a pilot shot on a makeshift camcorder. From there, it grew into a major part of MTV’s lineup, producing 331 episodes between 2011 and 2018.

The series was almost canceled in 2018, but thanks to Chris McCarthy’s vision to make the show a stronger part of the network’s lineup, the team renegotiated their fees and kept it going.

That decision led to an incredible run of hundreds of episodes each year, with production ramping up from two episodes a day to as many as twelve.

Dyrdek took the opportunity to thank the many people who made the show possible. He gave a shoutout to Shane, Christian, Lauren, and Jeff for bringing the show to life, and to Matt, Josh, Dustin, Matt H, Teresa, Michael, the writers, editors, and the rest of the crew. He also recognized Chanel for creating over a thousand moments of magic, Lolo for managing the intense filming schedule, and Steelo Brim for shaping the show’s identity.

“Above all, thank you to all of you that watched this show,” Dyrdek wrote. “Without you guys tuning in and laughing with us, this show would have never made such a crazy run. Love you all.”

Over its 14 years on air, Ridiculousness became known for its freestyling format, funny moments, and celebrity guest appearances.

While the show is ending, Dyrdek’s message shows how much the experience meant to him and everyone involved. Fans are now left to celebrate over a decade of laughs and memorable moments that the show brought into their homes.

"Thank you all for such an amazing run . Ridiculousness has been a blessing in so many ways but the fact that we all just laughed together for 14 years really made it so special. We just went out and freestyled each show, having fun making each other laugh . For me it always felt like all of us including , producers, writers, editors ,crew and audience laughing together. Crazy to think it lasted so long .We shot the pilot in 2009 with a makeshift camcorder as the screen. We shot 331 episodes between 2011 and 2018 .The show was going to be canceled in 2018 but Chris McCarthy had a vision for how the show could be a profit center for the network if we all renegotiated our fees to make the show economical . In exchange he would order more shows and our crazy run began. We started shooting 168 episodes a year to 252 episodes a year to 336 episodes a year . We went from shooting two episodes a day to three a day to 6 a day to 8 a day to 12 a day . We were shooting 336 episodes but it was only 28 days of the year .I am so grateful for such a run. Thank you to Shane , Christian , Lauren and Jeff bringing this show to life . Thank you to Matt C,Josh , Dustin , Matt H , Teresa , Michael , the writers, editors and everyone on the crew. Thank you to Chanel for over 1000 episodes of magic and all the unexpected gems you would hit us with every show. Thank you Lolo for carrying the torch and making shooting 12 a day so effortless. Thank you to Steelo Brim for being the reason Ridiculousness became Ridiculousness . I would have never been able to do this show without you .I am eternally grateful for you .We had so many incredible moments on the show .Thank you to all the amazing guests throughout the years . Thank you to MTV for giving me a platform for 20 years. No doubt I took full advantage of the opportunity . Above all thank you to all of you that watched this show .Without you guys tuning in and laughing with us this show would have never made such a crazy run. Love you all❤️"
