As we previously reported, Uganda Skateboard Society's only skatepark has been demolished after the land was reclaimed by its owner.
It was heartbreaking news for the local skateboarding community, especially after everything the crew had done to build and care for the park over the years.
Even though the land was never officially theirs, the skaters have continued to stay positive and thankful that they were able to create a place where so many people discovered skateboarding, made friends, and spent countless hours together.
The skatepark became much more than a place to skate. It became a home for the community.
Since the demolition, support has poured in from around the skateboarding world. Thrasher and adidas Skateboarding have both stepped in with financial assistance to help the crew begin again.
While their generosity has made a huge difference, there is still a long way to go before a new permanent skatepark can become a reality.
Now, skate legend Chad Muska has also shared his support after watching the emotional footage of the skatepark being torn down.
Muska thanked the crew for everything they have done and encouraged people to help the fundraising campaign.
Through his one-man company, he has also continued sending products and supporting the Uganda Skateboard Society.
The organization has launched a GoFundMe campaign with a goal of raising $80,000 to build a new skatepark that the community can finally call its own.
