MTV just called it quits on Ridiculousness after fourteen years on air and skaters can’t believe it.
According to reports, the network told the cast and crew this week that the current season will be the last one. No more new episodes, just reruns playing through 2026.
The show first dropped back in 2011 with former pro skater Rob Dyrdek turned TV genius who made viral videos and dumb fails look like prime-time entertainment.
With his slick humor and quick comebacks, Rob made Ridiculousness more than just people falling on skateboards or missing jumps. He built a whole show around internet clips and turned it into something MTV couldn’t stop running.
For over a decade, Rob, Steelo Brim, and Chanel West Coast sat on that red couch clowning on wild videos, and the chemistry between them made fans feel like they were just chilling with friends.
Chanel left last year after about twelve years on the show, and since then, it already felt like something was missing.
Rob’s always been more than just a TV host though.
He came up skating in the streets, built his own brand, and flipped that same creativity into television. Before Ridiculousness, he had Rob & Big and Fantasy Factory, both of which showed how his brain works differently.
He’s always thinking of new ways to entertain and keep it real.
MTV said they’re switching things up and trying new ideas, especially after the big changes with Paramount and Skydance merging. They’re looking for “fresh creative voices,” but fans online are already saying it won’t be the same without Rob.
Even though Ridiculousness is over, reruns will keep playing on MTV and streaming on Paramount Plus. So there’s still a lot of laughs left to catch.
Rob might be off the air for now, but don’t expect him to stay quiet. He’s a skater at heart and a creator by nature, and when one lane closes, he just builds a new one.
