Mystery Skateboards' professional skateboarder Luis "Moose" De Los Reyes has been stacking clips and working hard behind the scenes for years.

While many fans know him for his skating, what they might not know is that he was also juggling a day job at Home Depot.

That ended recently when Moose got fired, and the timing could not have been worse. He just became a father to a baby girl.

He shared the update in his latest vlog, starting off with some skate footage before opening up about what happened.

Moose explained that injuries from skating started getting in the way of his work shifts. His most recent injury left him with a nasty road rash on his leg. Just walking was painful, especially with his pants rubbing against the wound.

“I just knew if I went to work, I’d be in pain the whole time and I couldn’t do it,” he said. He had hoped that showing the injury to his managers would make them understand why he had to call out. "I showed them my freaking big old gash, they're like sorry man we got to let you go."

That hit hard, especially with a newborn at home. “It sucks because I just had a baby girl and I could use the extra money,” Moose said. He’s now hoping he can qualify for unemployment while he figures out his next move. “I don’t know if that excuse is going to be valid or not, but yeah it kind of sucks.”

Even with everything going on, Moose kept the vlog positive. He stayed smiling, skating with the homies, and focusing on what makes him feel good.

If the unemployment situation does not work out, he plans to start looking for a new job. In the meantime, he is still out skating and filming, not letting the setback keep him down.

He also talked about his Home Depot apron, which he technically was not supposed to bring home. He had one in his locker and he still wears it from time to time.

It represents more than just a uniform for Moose. It is a remembrance of all the work he put in while balancing a job, skating, and building up his video content.

Through it all, Moose remains grounded and real. He is not letting the job loss or life changes stop him. If anything, he is skating even harder.
