There’s something refreshing about a skate show that doesn’t try too hard to be polished or professional.
Creature Fiends’ INTRUDERS is exactly that kind of show. It’s weird, it’s messy, and in its latest episode, it welcomes one of skateboarding’s most respected figures, Eric Dressen.
Right from the start, you know this isn’t going to be a typical walk down memory lane. Host Sam Hitz doesn’t waste time setting the scene or laying out a formal structure.
He throws you straight into a world of oddly shaped boards, questionable designs, and unexpected questions that probably wouldn’t fly in a traditional interview. That’s what makes it so much fun to watch.
Dressen handles the gnarliness with the kind of calm only a lifer can pull off.
He sits among a scattered collection of decks that look like they were pulled out of a forgotten closet in some skater’s garage. Shapes that make no sense. Boards that spark more questions than answers. And Dressen is totally down for all of it.
This isn’t about showing off. It’s about rediscovering the weird corners of skateboarding’s past and having a good time doing it.
The boards aren’t just collectibles. They’re windows into forgotten eras, and Dressen is one of the few people who can speak on them without sounding like he’s reciting a museum plaque.
