In a Wallride X podcast interview, skater rapper Jereme Rogers opened up about leaving Girl Skateboards to ride for Plan B Skateboards.

He tried to avoid the question when asked about parting ways with the brand and said, "I said it before, it's water under the bridge. God bless them."

He eventually added, "It wasn't my fault though. I'll tell you that much."

When asked further if he wanted to elaborate, he said, "We parted ways and went to Plan B. I got an extra two grand minimum a month and I was seeing my royalties. So, you know, I wasn't definitely complaining."

He continued, "It went to three to five thousand minimum and I was getting my royalties. So, you know, regardless why that transpired, works for me."

Host Marko “Sharko” Jazbinsek brought up royalties. Rogers asked if it's still two dollars a board, but Jazbinsek said it's different these days.

"Now it's different. It's like if it's like five if it goes to shops," Sharko said. "If the skater owns the brand and they do like limited edition drops direct to consumer it's like twenty to forty dollars."

This is why Rogers said he told Torey Pudwill and Shane O'Neill to create their own brand since he already knew how the game works.

But O'Neill at that time rode for Skate Mental and didn't have the April Skateboards brand yet and was hesitant with Rogers for saying the brand strategy.

"He was like you crazy c*nt you can't make them numbers," Rogers explained. "That's not equal that. I'm like yeah it does Shane. Just simple math. Pull your calculator out." He's like, "No you're fcking cooked mate."

The skater rapper kept explaining so O'Neill could understand but he was really not having it. But now all of the pro skaters these days are doing their own brand and going direct to consumer to get more money.

Rogers was ahead of the game at that time but no one wanted to believe him due to him retiring from professional skateboarding to pursue his rap career.
