Pop punk band Paramore’s vocalist Hayley Williams linked up with Vans Off The Wall to celebrate 25 years of American Football, the band that changed the game for a lot of emo kids.
If you know American Football, you already know about that house.
The one that ended up on their album cover and turned into a whole symbol for the emo scene. That same spot is now partly owned by Atiba Jefferson, the photographer who’s been tight with both music and skate culture for years.
That’s why this collab had to happen.
OTW by Vans and Jefferson came together to show love to the band’s legacy and the fans who’ve kept their music alive. The project brings everything back to that house where it all started.
Since Jefferson is also working with Vans on their skate projects, it just made sense to connect that world with American Football’s story. Both are all about real passion, art, and community.
Having Williams involved levels it up even more.
She’s got that crossover pull, connecting emo kids, skaters, and anyone who grew up with that sound. With her in the mix, it’s bound to reach a new crowd who still ride for that era.
OTW by Vans put it best:
“OTW by Vans celebrates 25 years of American Football, back where it all began.”
It’s not just a throwback. It’s a shoutout to everyone who built something from nothing and kept it real all these years.
