Pro skateboarder Franky Villani has officially announced that he is no longer riding for Primitive Skateboarding, ending a decade-long run with the company founded by Switch God Paul Rodriguez.

Villani shared the news on social media, thanking the brand and everyone involved for their support over the years.

During his time at Primitive, he became one of the team's most recognizable riders and played a major role in many of the company's projects, videos, and product releases.

Now it appears Villani is entering a new chapter.

According to sources close to ShreddER, Villani is preparing to launch his own skateboard brand.

While details remain limited, the reported project would put him in charge of his own company at a time when the skateboard industry continues to face challenges.

As previously reported, Sandlot Times and even Thank You Skateboards recently shut their doors, adding to concerns about an already crowded skateboard market.

Even so, Villani reportedly remains committed to the idea of building something of his own.

Starting a skateboard company is no easy task in today's climate.

Competition is insane, and many brands are fighting for the same customers just to stay afloat. Still, Villani appears ready to take on the challenge as he looks to turn a longtime goal into reality.

In his announcement, Villani wrote:

"Thank you so much @primitiveskate for the last almost 10 years of support, you guys really have become like family to me and I will always value the great times we have had during these years.
I appreciate everything the brand and team has done for me and I wish nothing but continued success
With that being said I no longer skate for primitive
Thank you all so much 🙏🏻💕"

Right now, we will be watching closely to see what Villani has planned next, and we will surely provide more information about his project. Make sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook so you don't miss out on any skate news!
