Professional skateboarder Aurelien Giraud has shared an update on his recovery nearly three weeks after undergoing extensive knee surgery.

Posting on social media, Giraud revealed the full scope of the procedures performed by Dr. Dejour.

According to the French skater, his ACL was reconstructed, his lateral meniscus was repaired, the stability of his knee was reinforced through a Lemaire procedure, and his MCL was also reconstructed.

While the surgery is now behind him, Giraud admitted that the recovery process has been difficult so far. He said rehabilitation has already started, but his knee remains very painful as he works through the early stages of healing.

Simple things that many people take for granted are currently at the top of his list. Giraud said he is looking forward to sleeping comfortably again, walking normally, and most of all getting back on his skateboard.

The recovery period following multiple ligament procedures can take a considerable amount of time, and Giraud appears fully aware of what lies ahead. Even so, his latest update showed that his focus remains on getting better day by day rather than dwelling on the setback.

Despite the pain and the long rehabilitation process ahead, Giraud's attitude remains positive. He acknowledged that it will be a long road, but his message made one thing obvious. He has no intention of giving up.

The post quickly drew support from fellow skaters and fans, many of whom wished him a successful recovery and encouraged him to stay patient during rehabilitation.

For one of skateboarding's most talented competitors, the goal is simple right now. Recover, regain strength, and eventually return to doing what he loves. It may take time, but Giraud is already putting in the work needed to get there.

As he summed it up in his update, "We're not giving up."

Giraud Posted:

"3 weeks post-op ✌🏼

Dr. Dejour reconstructed my ACL, repaired my lateral meniscus, reinforced the stability of my knee with a Lemaire procedure, and reconstructed my MCL.

We've started rehab, my knee is still very painful...
I can't wait to be able to sleep well, walk, and especially get back to skating. It's going to be a bit of a long road, and we'll just have to deal with it...

We're not giving up 😤"
