As we previously reported, Piss Drunx legend Dustin Dollin and his transgender partner Julia Pierce have been together while also sharing a life around punk music and touring.
Now Pierce is preparing for gender affirming surgery and has opened a GoFundMe to help with the costs that come with taking time away from work to recover.
Pierce recently returned from a long tour and said she was already dealing with debt when she began preparing for the procedure.
With surgery just a week away, she explained that she will be unable to work during her recovery, leaving her with rent and everyday expenses to deal with while she heals.
The fundraiser is mainly about having somewhere to stay and being able to take the necessary time to recover without worrying about how every bill is going to get paid.
She explained that she wants the opportunity to rest properly after surgery, recover with dignity and have some peace of mind during the weeks ahead.
Pierce also pointed out that sharing the fundraiser can help even for people who are not in a position to donate.

"hello everyone, I’m preparing for another incredibly important step in my life: gender affirming surgery. I’m so very incredibly grateful to be moving forward with this, but to be completely honest, the financial strain of recovery is hitting at a difficult time.
I just got back from a long tour and am already dealing with debt, and bc I’ll be totally out of work while I heal, the stress of making sure I can cover a sublet to recover in and keep up with everyday living expenses weighs heavily on me, with the surgery only a week away.
