People online have a lot to say about wheelchair skater Damian Muñoz after his Halloween event demo.
But not everyone is feeling the love, as blind skater Coco Atama has now stepped in to defend Damian after the video attracted some pretty nasty comments.
As we previously reported, Damian pulled up at the Halloween event to throw down a WCMX demo.

During one of the attempts, he was being pushed toward a huge gap but took a gnarly slam before landing.
But Damian wasn't about to let that stop him. He got back up, went for it again, and this time he nailed the gap. The crowd went bonkers, cheering him on as he landed the trick.
The clip eventually made its rounds online, but things got ugly in the comments.
Some people started criticizing the whole performance, while others even accused the person pushing Damian of deliberately trying to hurt him.
The negativity got so bad that the comments were eventually turned off on the post.
Coco wasn't having any of it and decided to speak up about the situation. He also challenged anyone criticizing Damian to actually get involved with WCMX and see for themselves how difficult it can be.

For anyone unfamiliar with WCMX, it involves wheelchair users taking on skatepark obstacles, ramps, gaps, jumps, and tricks. Just like skateboarding, things don't always go according to plan.
Riders can take some hard falls, and when someone is helping with the run, both people need to get their timing right.
That's why Coco explained that the person assisting Damian wasn't trying to hurt him. Sometimes things go wrong, and that's part of learning in action sports.
At the end of the day, Damian got back up, gave it another shot, and landed the gap.

That's what people should be talking about, not wishing someone would get hurt or throwing hate at them from behind a screen.
Much respect to Coco for speaking up and showing love to the WCMX community. What do you think about the backlash Damian received?

"Why are people so mean? Yo @damianaamunoz tell me if I'm off base with the WCMX technique and rules. But comments are turned off on that post. To anyone who thinks what Damian did was easy, it's not. And if anyone wants to quit yapping and put up come find us in LA. Between @laparks.adaptivesports @abilityskateboarding @skate.inclusion @shred.co and so many others we can get you into a chair so you can try it for real. In addition you'll get to have fun with us instead of hiding behind a screen. Also for those who commented that the pusher was trying to hurt Damian you're wrong again. The rider and pusher need to sync up perfectly and, with all action sports, sometimes you get it wrong. It's not that deep. Just get used to falling, come back, and crush it. I hope you realize that it's not cool to want someone to get hurt. Have a great day. Also check out @wheelz @socal_para22 @tomaswcmx @traciegara and so many more I can't think of and really learn what WCMX is about. I love you world!!! @worldwcmx @socalwcmx #WCMX #wheelchair #adaptiveskate #skateboarding #friends"
