The event carries the message of "F*ck Genocide" and encourages people to enjoy skating while promoting peace.
Sadly, it did not take long before the online backlash became much more serious.
Salabanzi revealed that he had received what he says were his first death threats. Rather than staying silent, he shared screenshots of the messages and called on his followers to report the account responsible.
Bastien wrote:
"I am so proud to have received my very first death threats!! Make sure you report ( @almightiss ) this wonderful human being please. Let’s get these typa nut case off our platforms. This is not okay. I wish you all a wonderful day. Nothing but Love 🙏🏾❤️"
The person who allegedly sent the messages wrote in French:
"Mec vas y la responds!! Reposte ca! Alors mec tu n'as Creve mec Creve!!! Collabo tu dormiras plus."
Translated into English, the message says:
"Come on, man, answer!! Repost this! So you're still alive? Die, man, die!!! Do the collaboration. You won't be sleeping anymore."
The same individual also sent Salabanzi a French political post that read:
"Le Recit De LFI S'effondre!
L'histoire est en train de donner raison a ceux qui ont soutenu Israel Des Le 7 Octobre."
In English, that translates to:
"LFI's narrative is falling apart. History is proving right those who supported Israel from October 7 onward."
Despite receiving hateful messages, Bastien's public response focused on reporting the account rather than replying with more hostility.
He also ended his post by wishing everyone a wonderful day and saying, "Nothing but Love," making it obvious that he does not want intimidation to stop him from speaking about peace.
The situation shows how heated conversations surrounding the Israel and Palestine conflict have become online.
People on all sides continue to debate the issue, but sending death threats crosses the line.
Bastien's supporters quickly reacted to his post, with many condemning the messages and agreeing that threatening someone over their opinions is never acceptable.
