The plan is called “Skate 4 Peace” Day and it is being shaped as a separate day from the usual Go Skate Day on June 21.
The intention is to give the skateboarding community another moment in the year to come together with a focus on unity and awareness around conflict happening in different parts of the world.
The concept sits under a project name that he has been using, “In the Name of Fuck Genocide,” which reflects his frustration about violence and loss of life.
He has spoken about how seeing ongoing wars and the impact on civilians, especially children, has been difficult to ignore.
This new day is not about turning skateboarding into a protest event for Salabanzi, but more about using a shared activity to bring people together in a calm and personal way.
Instead of speeches or formal gatherings, the idea centers on simply skating, spending time with others, and showing that people from different backgrounds can share space without conflict.
The focus is on expression through skating and creating a moment where people can reflect without pressure or structure.
It is meant to feel open, where anyone can join in their own way.

The response so far has grown quickly within parts of the skateboarding community. Many people have reached out to support the idea, ask how they can take part, or suggest ways to help organize local meetups.
What started as a personal thought has shifted into something that now has conversations happening across different places, with skaters discussing how it could look in their own cities.
Salabanzi shared that he has been surprised by how many messages came in after talking about it.
He said he did not expect the idea to spread this fast, and he appreciates the amount of people who want to be involved or simply show support.
Tt turned from a thought into something more real once others started responding and adding their own ideas.
At this stage, Skate 4 Peace Day is still being developed.
There is no fixed format yet, and it is not tied to a single location. The plan seems to be growing in a flexible way, shaped by the skateboarding community itself rather than a central organization.
The direction is still open, but the core idea remains the same, using skateboarding as a shared space to reflect on peace and human life.
