A 17-year-old skateboarder, Cameron Vaughan, lost his life after a collision with two vehicles in Linda Vista, San Diego.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Osler Street and Genesee Avenue, leaving the community in shock and mourning the untimely loss.

According to reports, the fatal incident took place around 7:17 p.m. when Vaughan, riding eastbound on Osler Street, proceeded against a red light.

The collision unfolded as a 45-year-old man, driving a Chrysler Pacifica southbound on Genesee Avenue, struck the skateboarder while he crossed the intersection.

The impact of the collision resulted in Vaughan sustaining a skull fracture and a brain bleed, injuries that were deemed unsurvivable by medical professionals on the scene.

Compounding the tragedy, the force of the collision propelled the teenager into the path of a Nissan Altima, driven by a 25-year-old man, which had stopped at the red turn arrow in a northbound turn lane.

Vaughan came to rest in the northbound lane, marking the end of a young life filled with passion for skateboarding.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office is now in possession of his body as they conduct their investigation into the incident.
