Yuto Horigome is absolutely killing it! He snagged the top spot in Street Skateboarding at the Paris Olympics, proving once again why he's a two-time Olympic gold medalist.
But what's really cool is that he took a moment to give props to his rival but good friend and former unstoppable contest champion, Nyjah Huston.
Despite dominating the competition, Horigome still stayed humble to pay homage to fellow pro skateboarder, Nyjah Huston.
In a social media post, he said, "I think both Nyjah and I truly love street skateboarding and are also competitive skaters during contests."
He added, "My dad, who was a skater himself, used to show me all kinds of old skate videos, and other kinds of street and competition videos when I was little. I have been watching Nyjah skate in videos and contests since I was young, and I know how good he is in the streets. I think what you have done for skating is incredible and I really respect how you continue to push the limits of what only you can do."
He went on to say, "I know we'll both face tough competition leading up to the LA Olympics, with skaters from around the world gunning for us. But I hope we get the chance to skate together on the Olympic stage again. I'll keep pushing myself to be the best until then."
Horigome's gesture not only shows what a good sport he is but also how much he's committed to the skateboarding community.
