Skaters from Uganda are making their way to Zimbabwe this weekend to be part of something exciting.
Uganda Skate Society founder Nsubuga Gerald and loyal member Charles Shawn Kyeyune have flown over to join the team at Push Project and Victoria Falls Skate Club for the grand opening of Zimbabwe’s first skatepark on Saturday.
The skatepark has been a long time in the making, and a lot of people have been involved to make it happen.
Special recognition goes to Robby Kimmel Robby Kimmel, who has been dedicated to bringing this project to life over several years, and to WAW - Wonders Around the World, for taking the lead on the construction.
Their work is creating a space for local skaters to grow, practice, and share their skills with the community.
For Gerald and Kyeyune, this trip ain’t just about showing up for an opening.
It’s about linking up with other skaters from Zimbabwe, rolling through the new park, shredding, and holding it down for the local scene.
Skateboarding isn’t just a hobby, it’s a way to connect, build respect, and create something real in the neighborhoods.
Fans of Uganda Skate Society and local skaters are excited to see what the weekend will bring. With the new skatepark now open, Zimbabwean skaters will have a dedicated place to meet, learn, and explore new tricks.
