OG ‘90s core brand Shorty’s Skateboards has brought back Toan Nguyen’s second pro model board, with proceeds going toward his medical expenses while he continues treatment for acute myeloid leukemia.
Nguyen has been in hospital care after being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. Homies and supporters have been keeping up with his updates while he focuses on recovery and day-to-day treatment.
The decision from Shorty’s to bring back his pro model comes as a way to help with the rising costs of his care.
The boards are available again, and sales go directly toward his medical bills and recovery process.
Toan shared a message of thanks on social media, saying:
"Thank you @shortysskateboards for letting me re-release my second pro model! All the proceeds goes towards my recovery process and medical expenses. Dm if you’re interested, thanks
#fuckcancer"
The skate community has been responding with support and sharing information about how to get the board or donate.
Alongside the board release, he also has his GoFundMe page for those who want to contribute further if they are able. Donate here.
This re-release gives fans and supporters a direct way to help while also picking up a piece of skate history tied to one of Shorty’s pro models.
