After the chaos that erupted in downtown Los Angeles during this year’s Halloween Hellbomb, Thrasher Magazine took to Instagram to address the events and clarify what their Halloween skate event is really about.

The post gave a shout-out to everyone who pulled up and held it down for the Hellbomb crew, repping skaters from LA to everywhere else.

While the event is meant to be a celebration of skateboarding in the Halloween spirit, incidents that happened outside of the permitted event area caused serious problems.

According to the skate bible, they do not and will never condone vandalism or any activities that do not involve skateboarding.

They expressed being deeply upset that these incidents forced the event to end early, cutting short the experience for everyone who had come to skate and watch.

Videos and social media posts showed some people destroying property and clashing with police outside the event space, turning what should have been a skate gathering into a chaotic scene.

Thrasher’s statement clearly separated the event itself from the destructive behavior, emphasizing that the chaos did not represent the Halloween Hellbomb or the skating community as a whole.

The magazine also noted that they are working closely with the city of Los Angeles and sponsoring brands to ensure that future events run smoothly and safely.

They reiterated that the purpose of the Hellbomb has always been about skating, costumes, and fun, not destruction.

Despite the absurd gnar in the streets, many skaters have expressed appreciation for the event and for Thrasher’s commitment to keeping the focus on skating.

The 666 skate goat mag ended the statement with a simple Halloween greeting, reminding everyone that the spirit of the event is about the community and the love of skating.

This year’s Halloween Hellbomb may have been marred by chaos outside the event space, but Thrasher put everyone on notice, Hellbomb is all about the boards, the streets, and the crew, not smashing sh*t.

Fans and participants are left looking forward to future Hellbombs that maintain the excitement and community while keeping the streets safe.

"Thank you to everybody who attended yesterday's event in the classic hellbomb spirit and to our hellbomb community worldwide. We would be nothing without the support from our very passionate fanbase.

Regarding the incidents that occurred outside of our permitted event space, halloween hellbomb does not and will never condone any vandalism or acitivities that do not involve skateboarding in the halloween spirit. We are deeply upset that these incidents outside of the permitted event space caused our event to conclude early, jeopardizing the experience for everybody.

We are working with the city of los angeles and sponsoring brands to ensure future events run smoothly and safely.

Happy Halloween!"
