Halloween weekend in Los Angeles is never quiet, but when Thrasher throws its annual Halloween Hellbomb, things go off the rails in the most Thrasher way possible.
Skaters from all corners pulled up in full costume, boards in hand, ready to go all out. From pros to locals to die-hard fans, everyone came through to hit the streets and make it another wild chapter in Hellbomb history.
The event started strong.
People came dressed up as demons, skeletons, movie killers, even some random costumes nobody could figure out.
Didn’t matter what they wore because once the boards hit the ground it was all gas. You could feel it in the crowd. Every trick landed had people yelling and every slam just made the next one harder.
It was all good until things started spilling outside the event space.
The crowd kept growing and some core heads decided to wild out on stuff that wasn’t part of the session.
A self-driving car rolled up and got smashed like it was part of the contest. That’s when things went left.
Cops showed up and tried to lock it down. Lights flashing and people scattering. Just like that, the Hellbomb got cut short. Nobody wanted it to end like that.
Watch: Thrasher Magazine’s Halloween Hellbomb Spiral Into Full-Blown Street Chaos
Thrasher’s Halloween Hellbomb dropped a statement right after.
They said that Hellbomb is about skating, not breaking stuff. They thanked the crowd for coming through and said they don’t stand for vandalism or anything outside of what the event’s about. They said they’re already talking with the city and sponsors to make sure the next one doesn’t go sideways.
Their message said:
"Thank you to everybody who attended yesterday's event in the classic hellbomb spirit and to our hellbomb community worldwide. We would be nothing without the support from our very passionate fanbase.
Regarding the incidents that occurred outside of our permitted event space, halloween hellbomb does not and will never condone any vandalism or acitivities that do not involve skateboarding in the halloween spirit. We are deeply upset that these incidents outside of the permitted event space caused our event to conclude early, jeopardizing the experience for everybody.
We are working with the city of los angeles and sponsoring brands to ensure future events run smoothly and safely.
Happy Halloween!"
Even with the chaos, the skating that went down was insane.
Tricks went off everywhere and you already know the clips are going to be all over the internet soon. But skate bible got one more trick up their sleeve.
They said they’re dropping the official Halloween Hellbomb 2025 edit once the Hellbomb webstore hits 666 sales. Straight up classic Thrasher sh*t.
So yeah, the cops shut it down, but the Hellbomb still went off. The streets saw real skating, real heat, and real mayhem. People will be talking about this one for a minute.
When that 666 number hits the site and the video drops, you already know it’s going to be crazy. LA Halloween skating at its finest.
