Skateboarder, writer, and Weekend Buzz OG Robert Brink has officially stepped away from skateboarding journalism.
And now his skateboard company, The Nine Muses Skateboards, is also no longer in business.
As we previously reported, Brink has been using his platform to investigate abuse within the skateboarding scene.
His work included speaking with women who said they had been victimized and exposing allegations involving a professional skater accused of predatory behavior.

That work came with a serious price.
Brink became a target of hateful comments from parts of the skateboarding community, with online attacks eventually taking a toll on him personally.
After dealing with the backlash for some time, he decided to walk away and threw in the towel.
Brink has also spoken openly about just how bad things became for him.
He admitted that he came close to taking his own life and eventually realized that continuing with his "To Catch a Predator" style reporting was no longer something he could continue.

Now, The Nine Muses Skateboards has followed him out the door.
The company has been shut down following Brink's resignation after continued attacks from core heads.
For anyone who followed Brink's work, the shutdown is another strange ending to a story that became much bigger than skateboarding.
One of our interns had even been hoping that Brink would eventually turn pro and that a signature deck would eventually be available to buy.
The site no longer has any skateboards for sale, and even the Instagram account has been deleted.
Unfortunately, that opportunity is gone for now, with The Nine Muses no longer operating.
It is also worth remembering that Brink's decision to leave journalism does not erase the work he had already done.
His reporting brought attention to allegations that many skaters would probably have preferred to leave alone.
At the same time, the pressure that came with that work became too much for him.

After everything that happened, perhaps some time away from the insane animosity is exactly what he needs.
And who knows what comes next.
The Nine Muses may be done, and Brink may have walked away from journalism, but that does not necessarily mean he will stay away forever.
Maybe one day he will return to exposing the pedos and justice will be served.
