101 Skateboards is making another return, and OG core heads are already hyped as f*ck!
Sidewalk Distribution recently announced that it worked directly with skate legend Natas Kaupas to bring back a selection of lesser seen 101 boards, giving shops and collectors another chance to get their hands on graphics that have not been widely available for years.
The latest drop includes boards connected to names many skaters still talk about today including Clyde Singleton, Jason Dill, Gabriel Rodriguez and Gino Iannucci.
Instead of only bringing back the most recognizable graphics, the release focuses on designs that were not as common during the original run of 101.
That choice alone makes this collection feel a little more personal for people who followed the brand during the 1990s.
101 built a strong following through its team roster, graphics, and videos that helped shape street skating during that era.
Even years after the company faded from the spotlight, the brand continued to hold a place in skate culture through old video parts, collector decks, and conversations between skaters who grew up watching the team.
For many people, Dill and Gino represented a different style of skating and personality that stood out from the rest of the industry at the time.
Clyde brought and Gabriel Rodriguez's approach helped make 101 memorable, while Natas remained one of the most respected names connected to the company.
Bringing these names together again through reissue decks gives older fans something familiar while also introducing newer skaters to an important part of skateboarding history.
Sidewalk confirmed that the new Holiday D5 collection is currently available for prebook, with a June 1 deadline for shops and buyers.
The company encouraged interested stores to contact their local reps or send a direct message for more information about the release.
Reissue skateboard decks have continued to gain attention over the past few years, especially among skaters looking for older graphics connected to brands that helped define earlier generations of street skating.
Some decks end up displayed on walls while others go straight to the streets, but either way, collections like this usually disappear fast once preorders close.
This release feels like another opportunity to revisit a brand that still carries plenty of history decades later.
