FA World Entertainment professional skateboarder Sage Elsesser has been open about his faith, politics, and the way people treat one another.
In a recent interview with Slam City Skates, he was asked about the general atmosphere in the United States and how it feels to live there at the moment. Sage described it honestly, saying the country feels pulled apart between two extremes.
According to him, people are being pushed into choosing between being a leftist or an extreme conservative, with very little middle ground available. He explained that this makes daily life harder because the divide feels sharp and constant.
He also discussed how fear is being promoted from all sides, especially by people who present themselves as religious.
He emphasized this point clearly, saying exactly:
“What’s crazy is that the fear is being peddled by the same people who claim to be Christians, these super right-wing people. Everything that they believe in is so anti-Christ mentally.”
The behavior he sees from certain right-wing groups does not match what Christ stood for.

He shared that while he is not Christian, he believes in Christ as a spirit who represented love, kindness, and understanding. It frustrates him to see those values ignored by people who speak loudly about faith but show little of what that faith is meant to represent.
Sage also talked about the idea of people not living truthfully. He said many choose to feed into their lowest impulses rather than listen to what he calls the god within, which he describes as the part of every person that urges compassion and genuine care for others.
Despite this, he still sees beauty in his country and shared how proud he is to be a Black American. Even in difficult times, he tries to stay grounded and aware of the things that bring him pride.
Before ending that part of the conversation, Sage shared something lighter. He recently found out that Jeremy Corbyn follows him on Instagram, which he admitted he found pretty cool. It was a small detail that added some humor to an otherwise serious discussion.
Sage continues to be open about his beliefs and his thoughts on the world around him. He brings the same sincerity to his music, his art, and the conversations he engages in. His recent comments show that he is not afraid to call out contradictions or talk about faith in a personal way that does not fit into a simple category.
