The Dime Glory Challenge has always been known for mixing comedy, madness and skateboarding at its wildest, and this year’s contest might go down as one of the most memorable yet.

Sandlot Times boss Ryan Sheckler and skater rapper Lil Dre walked away with the MVP titles and a massive $2 million prize.

This was a gnar moment for Shecks. Over the years he’s had more than his fair share of injuries, surgeries, and setbacks, but none of that stopped him from stepping up to the plate and delivering.

He went after big gaps and made it look like nothing. Watching him land trick after trick reminded skaters why he has remained one of skateboarding’s most recognizable names for nearly two decades.

Lil Dre came through heavy too. Everyone knows him as a rapper, but he showed he can seriously throw down on a board. The moment that had the whole place going wild was when he hit a fakie kickflip bank to bank.

It was straight up insane and probably the trick people will keep bringing up whenever they talk about this year’s challenge.

Between that and the way he kept landing stuff all day, it was no surprise he ended up sharing MVP with Shecks.

The prize money had everyone cracking jokes too. A bunch of skaters were like, “Yo, this looks way different from the last time.” Gatekeeper Weckingball even brought up how back in 2018 the prize was listed as fifty grand, but he only ended up with four hundred bucks.

People were also clowning around saying the $2 million this year might not even be in US dollars, it’s probably Canadian, so it doesn’t really hit the same.

Jokes aside, what makes the Dime Glory Challenge special isn’t just the cash.

It’s the unpredictable setups, the stunts that look straight out of a comedy skit, and the fact that some of the best skaters in the world are down to risk it all in front of a packed crowd.

Every year the event manages to keep skateboarding fun, raw and entertaining, which is exactly why people keep showing up.

Either way, even if the prize money is serious or a joke, the memories created at the contest are what make it one of the most exciting events on the skateboarding calendar.
