OG professional skateboarder Anthony "Ragdoll" Daniel Scalamere III has completely turned his life around.
After years of a gnarly past and wild behavior, the former Pigwood rider leading the charge is now speaking openly about his faith in God and encouraging others to live with purpose and compassion.
There was a time when Ragdoll was caught up in a destructive lifestyle.
He dealt with substance abuse, got involved in theft, and even landed in jail after stealing guitars at the Hard Rock Café in Las Vegas. Lizard King was with him that night, but didn’t steal anything - he wasn’t involved in the crime and didn’t get arrested. Ragdoll took the fall.
During those years, trouble followed him often, and things looked like they would never change.
But now, Ragdoll is living differently. After being baptized, he described himself as “the cleanest I’ve ever been in my life.”
That statement carries weight, especially for someone who once lived on the edge. He is no longer chasing his previous bad habits. Instead, he is focused on faith, healing, and doing what is right.
Recently, Ragdoll shared a powerful message: “Jesus is the Way, the Truth, the Life.” His words offer encouragement, especially to skaters who may be facing similar struggles. He believes it is never too late to walk away from harmful habits and make better choices.
His message comes shortly after we reported that his fellow pro skateboarder Antwuan Dixon told the skateboarding community, “Jesus loves you.”
These moments of faith are connecting with people who never expected to hear such messages from individuals who once lived fast and loose.
This is not about preaching or trying to be someone he is not. Ragdoll speaks with honesty and admits where he came from.
He wants others to know that there is still hope. Change is not easy, but it is possible with guidance and belief.
“Christ is King.” For both Ragdoll and Dixon, that truth is more than just something they say. It is what keeps them grounded and focused on a better life.
