Justin Bieber isn’t just a global pop star, he’s also been quietly holding it down in the skateboarding world for a while now.
If you’ve been paying attention, you know this isn’t anything new. The Biebs has been rocking Thrasher shirts for years and casually ripping around skateparks and street spots whenever he gets a chance.
He was also spending a lot of time at Brooklyn Projects, the legendary skate shop run by Dom DeLuca. It’s become one of his go-to spots to chill, shop, and, of course, skate. Bieber's been seen rolling through with his board, chatting it up with Dom, and even helping bring more eyes to the shop just by being around.
Not too long ago, he linked up with Olympic skateboarding heavyweight Nyjah Huston at Nyjah’s private park. It wasn’t just a casual session either - Bieber actually landed a pretty sick inward heelflip that turned a lot of heads. For someone who’s not a full-time pro skater, throwing down tricks like that definitely got people paying attention.
Life took a bit of a quieter turn recently when he stepped away from the spotlight to focus on family. After his wife Hailey Bieber gave birth, the pop singer traded in the late-night skate missions for some much-needed family time. But now, he’s starting to ease back into the scene, and he came back strong.
This time around, Bieber hit the mini ramp and absolutely handled it. Clips started floating around online of him throwing down smooth lines, landing clean tricks, and looking like he never missed a beat.
Pro skaters like two-time Olympic gold medalist Yuto Horigome, style king Greg Lutzka, Skatepark Hero Mike Manion, DGK’s Boo Johnson, and more were all giving him props. Even Independent Trucks said, "Ride the Best."
When those names start giving you respect, you know you’re doing something right.
