"“My best trick isn’t what I land. It’s knowing how to fall.”
Professional skateboarder Dave Jonsson knows that falling is part of life. What matters is how you get back up. In this unforgettable Speaker Slam talk, Dave shares how a devastating plane crash changed everything and gave him a second chance at life.
After surviving a crash that took his brother’s life and left him with life-altering injuries, Dave was forced to confront pain, loss, and the question of whether he would ever stand again, let alone skate. What followed was not just physical recovery, but a powerful awakening. Hidden inside his darkest moment was a new purpose.
From learning to fall on a skateboard to learning how to rise after tragedy, Dave’s story is a reminder that our struggles often carry the seeds of our greatest strength. When we are willing to share our pain, our story can become the very thing that inspires others to keep going.
Against all odds, Dave turned his weakness into his superpower."
