Nick Matthews is officially pro for Antihero Skateboards and the celebration went down right in his hometown of Chicago.
Uprise Skateshop and the Antihero crew pulled up in full support, bringing pizza, cold drinks, and a whole lot of love.
It wasn’t a flashy rollout or some over-the-top reveal. It was just real people showing up for someone who’s been putting in the work for years.
If you’ve seen Matthews skate, you already know. He’s got that calm and solid style that makes hard tricks look smooth.
You can tell he thinks about what he wants to do and does it with purpose. His clips have always had this steady presence and that’s exactly what’s gotten him to where he is now.
Uprise made sure to drop his first pro model early for the local heads. The deck is called the Pigeonator and it was first available in-store before the online release.
Getting a board with your name on it is one of the biggest honors in skateboarding. But having it handed to you by your crew, in your own city, surrounded by friends and family? That’s next level. It says a lot that Antihero chose to do it this way. It’s not about hype. It’s about respect.
Congratulations to Matthews!
