More professional skateboarders are getting serious about fitness, building muscle while staying connected to skating.
Nick Dompierre is another jacked legend looking to reconnect with his roots after spending years focused on bodybuilding and coaching.
After his professional skateboarding career took a different direction, Dompierre found a new purpose in fitness, focusing on strength, physical performance, and helping others reach their goals.
Now, at 40, he is ready to bring skateboarding back into his life while continuing his work as a coach.
In a recent social media post, Dompierre opened up about how life can take you in a different direction before bringing you back to where you started.

“Skateboarding gave me so much growing up,” he wrote. “Training gave me a new purpose when that chapter of my life changed.”
For Dompierre, the two passions do not have to exist separately. He can keep building strength and coaching others while returning to the activity that helped shape his early years.
His post was not about recreating his professional career or trying to relive the past. He simply wants to enjoy skateboarding again while keeping fitness at the heart of his life.
“Once a skateboarder, always a skateboarder,” he added.
With years of bodybuilding and coaching behind him, Dompierre is bringing a different perspective to this next chapter. His priorities have changed, but his connection to skateboarding remains.

"Funny how life can take you in a completely different direction and somehow bring you right back to where you started.
Skateboarding gave me so much growing up.
Training gave me a new purpose when that chapter of my life changed.
Now at 40, I’m realizing those two versions of me don’t have to be separate.
I can chase strength, fitness, and performance while still doing the thing that made me who I am in the first place.
Once a skateboarder, always a skateboarder.
This next chapter should be fun. 🤙🏼"
