N Word Skateboards recently shared that they had to adjust how their boards are presented in order to get them into retail shops.

The brand explained that some stores were open to carrying their products, but preferred a more neutral presentation to avoid customer complaints.

Because of that, they created custom bags designed for displaying boards in stores while keeping things more acceptable for retail environments.

Khyron Smith, who is the CEO of the company, pointed out that the design of the bags actually came out well and still keeps the identity of the brand intact.

Even though the change was not their first choice, it gave them a way to work with shops that otherwise would not have been comfortable stocking the boards.

Along with this update, N Word Skateboards also announced that they are now opening wholesale access for selected stores.

Shops that want to carry the boards will need to apply online for approval before being added to the wholesale list.

This setup allows the brand to choose retail partners while keeping their presentation consistent across different locations.

The announcement also encouraged people to tag skate shops, liquor stores, gas stations, and smoke shops that might be open to carrying their gear.

The tone of the post was direct and unfiltered, showing that the brand still keeps its raw identity even while making adjustments for retail requirements.

Overall, the situation shows how independent skate brands sometimes have to adjust packaging or presentation to get shelf space, even when the core product and message stay the same.

"FUCK CENSORSHIP.. But sometimes it’s gotta happen 🤷🏿‍♂️

We designed these bags in order to have our boards displayed in retail shops. We know a lot of shops wanna support, but also don’t wanna deal with people complaining. & honestly the bags came out 🔥

W/ that being said— NWM has opened up wholesale for select shops! To get approved, stores must submit an application online 🛍️🛒

Everyone tag your favorite skate shops, liquor stores, gas stations, smoke shops, w.e!!!
