Skateboarding politician Mikey Taylor is running for re-election to the Thousand Oaks City Council, District 1, saying there is still work to do for the city he grew up in.
In his announcement, Taylor pointed to a 46% drop in homelessness, Thousand Oaks ranking among California's 10 safest cities, $211 million in city cash reserves, and Amgen's $600 million investment.
Taylor spent 14 years in the industry before co-founding Saint Archer Brewing Company and investment firm Commune Capital, which manages over $352 million in assets.
He also shared that he and his wife Jen raised their five children in the same community where they grew up.
He says he's running again because Thousand Oaks is worth fighting for.
