After stepping away from professional skateboarding, Taylor carried the mindset of a skate rat into new ventures, evolving into a thoughtful entrepreneur.

He runs Commune Capital, a real estate business, and hosts a podcast where he shares insights on life, business, and personal growth.

Over the years, he has also taken the time to mentor young skaters, teaching them how to handle their finances wisely and make decisions that set them up for the future.

Taylor’s interest in leadership and service naturally led him to politics.

He first joined the Thousand Oaks City Council, where he worked closely with city staff and residents to support local projects and initiatives.

His efforts and dedication did not go unnoticed, and now he has stepped into the role of mayor, ready to guide the city with the same focus and determination he applied to skating and business.

Sharing the news on social media, Taylor expressed his gratitude:

"Last night I became the Mayor of Thousand Oaks!

First off, all glory goes to God.

Thank you to my council for trusting me in this position. To our city staff for doing a great job managing our city. And also our residents for giving me the opportunity to serve you!"

As mayor, Taylor has emphasized collaboration and community engagement.

He plans to continue working closely with city staff and residents to strengthen local programs, support families, and foster opportunities for growth.

His leadership reflects a combination of practical experience, community connection, and a commitment to making a positive difference in the city he has called home for years.

From professional skateboarder to entrepreneur to public servant, Taylor’s path shows how skills and values from one part of life can carry forward into others.

His new role as mayor offers an opportunity to impact Thousand Oaks in meaningful ways while staying connected to the skate community that shaped him.
