Skateboarding and MMA have been crossing paths more often lately, with more fighters and jiu jitsu skaters spending time skating when they are not training.
Marcus McGhee is one of those guys, and he has been getting out into the streets to skate spots whenever he gets the chance.
The 36 year old wants to take things further by releasing his first full skate video part.
During an interview with Full Send MMA, the UFC fighter talked about what he wants to do once his next fight with Anthony Romero is over.
His plan is to come out of the fight healthy, then put his skating footage together and release a full part.
"My plan after this fight is to come out healthy and able and I want to drop my first video part. It's been a long time saving it," McGhee said.
The idea goes back to the sponsor me tapes he made when he was younger.
He explained that he no longer has access to some of his older footage because other people have held onto the clips, along with the usual issues that can come with filming and sharing skate footage.

That is one reason he wants to create something new from scratch.
McGhee wants the project to have the feel of a classic sponsor me video. That means getting out into the streets, stacking clips and putting together a proper section that represents where his skating is today.
He also has plans to spend some time in California.
According to McGhee, several skaters from the area have been reaching out to him, giving him an opportunity to meet more people and skate with different crews.
He specifically mentioned wanting to connect with some of the skaters around Primitive and spend time filming with them.

The idea sounds like a fun change of pace for a fighter who spends much of his life training, competing and preparing for his next UFC appearance.
Once his fight with Romero is done, McGhee will have a collection of footage ready to turn into something he has wanted to release for a long time.
Right now, the first priority is getting through the fight healthy.
After that, it looks like McGhee will be trading the Octagon for the streets, grabbing his board and working on the video part he has been saving for years.
If everything comes together, core heads could soon get to see a side of the UFC fighter that does not involve gloves, takedowns or a cage.
