With the skateboarding industry having a long history of Satanic imagery, including pentagrams, devils and references to hell, you already know these themes have been embraced in skate culture for decades.
Now, Christian pro skaters are calling on skateboarders around the world to pray to the Lord Jesus Christ, hoping that those who are lost will find salvation through God.
The Pray With Skaters Instagram account, led by Reliance Skateboards pro skater Dave Jonsson along with other followers of Jesus, is inviting skaters everywhere to take part in a worldwide day of prayer on October 1, 2026.

The idea is pretty simple.
Find another skater, head to your local skatepark, meet up on the street, or pray wherever you happen to be.
The goal is to bring skateboarders together around one shared purpose: honoring Jesus Christ and praying for more skateboarders to come to know Him.
For the people behind Pray With Skaters, this is about bringing their faith into the places where skateboarders already spend their time. Skateparks, streets, plazas and spots around the world can become places for prayer as well as skating.
The group has also organized a Google Meet prayer call at 1 PM PST on October 1, giving people from different countries a chance to pray together online.

The campaign is openly Christian and centers its message on Jesus.
It also points to James 5:16, which says, “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
Christian imagery and themes have appeared in skateboarding for decades, alongside the culture's mix of art, music, fashion and personal expression.
Pray With Skaters is approaching skateboarding from a specifically Christian perspective, asking skaters who share the faith to bring prayer into their everyday lives.
The invitation is not limited to professional skaters. Anyone who rides a board can take part, according to the campaign.
For Christian skaters, the message is about sharing their faith and reaching people within their own community.
